Student Opportunities
Paid Student Internships
The Organic Farm employs current Cal Poly students of all majors interested in learning about the organic agriculture industry through hands-on work. Our student employees are involved in all day-to-day organic farm operations, including harvesting, cultivating, seeding, and more!
Research Internships
Students in research positions get firsthand experience in organic research, including soil testing, nutrient management, and more. Research interns gain in the field and lab work experience.

Agroecology Field Quarter - Summer 2026
The UCSC Agroecology Field Quarter will take place July 6th through August 21st. It is a full-time, 7-week residential and traveling course meant to be a field study, based mostly in hands-on experiential learning activities, with visits to academics, farmers, and community-based organizations that are leading Agroecology research, extension and farming operations in the Central Coast, the San Joaquin Valley, the Sacramento Valley, and the San Francisco East Bay Area.
You do not have to have had field experiences prior to enrolling in this program!
