About

The Center was established in late 2021 as a public-private partnership, beginning with a $5 million gift from the Grimm family. Cal Poly CAFES provides physical infrastructure and access to students and faculty while center operations are 100% funded through donations, grants, and research contracts. Our mandate is to develop solutions for real-world problems facing California organic agriculture and to provide hands-on training for the next generation of organic leaders.
