Matthew J. Grieshop has worked in the areas of organic and sustainable agriculture for over 20 years. An entomologist by training, he has published over 60 papers and extension/trade articles in biological, cultural, behavioral, and chemical pest management. Prior to joining Cal Poly, Grieshop served Michigan State University as the Organic Pest Management Specialist where he taught courses in agroecology, pest management, sustainable agriculture, and environmental science and built a nationally recognized research and extension program. Grieshop received his doctorate from Kansas State University, MS1 from Montana State University, and bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Dr. Charlotte Decock

Charlotte Decock has been working in soil fertility for over 12 years with an emphasis on organic and sustainable agriculture. She earned a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium, and a Ph.D. in Soils and Biogeochemistry at the University of California, Davis. Her doctoral research focused on nitrogen cycling and emissions of the potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide (N2O) from agroecosystems in a changing global environment. She led and contributed to projects on the effect of water and nutrient management on soil fertility, nitrate leaching, and greenhouse gas emissions in rice cropping systems in Northern Italy and India. Dr. Decock serves as the Center's lead soil scientist.

Dr. Shunping Ding

Shunping Ding has been a plant pathologist for over 7 years with an emphasis on applied science. Dr. Ding earned a B.Sc. in Life Sciences at Henan University, a M.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Hong Kong, and a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Ding teaches courses that involve plant pathology, grapevine diseases, and plant disease management. Her research interests include studying fungicide resistance in grapevine and vegetable pathogens, disease diagnosis and epidemiology, and testing sources of disease resistance novel cultivars. Dr. Ding serves as the Center's lead plant pathologist.

Moses Mike is an assistant professor with the Department of Agricultural Education and Communication. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Florida and his M.S. and B.A. from the University of the West Indies. Dr. Mike has extensive experience in developing digital media with an emphasis on agriculture and disaster communication. Moses collaborates with the center in the areas of digital communications with ongoing projects integrated with his teaching program.
