Organic Field Day 2026 Recap
Nearly 200 growers, researchers, students, industry professionals, and agricultural supporters joined us for the fourth annual Organic Field Day at the Cal Poly Organic Center.
The afternoon showcased current research, practical demonstrations, and conversations focused on advancing organic agriculture through collaboration between researchers and the farming community.

Research and Educational Sessions
This year's program featured research from Cal Poly students, faculty, and industry experts covering a range of timely topics in organic production.
Student researchers shared findings on improving nitrogen availability from organic fertilizers, evaluating sidedress liquid ammonium fertilizers in organic systems, and exploring the connections between regenerative practices, soil health assessments, and grower perspectives.
Faculty presentations highlighted the relationships between soil health and fertility, organic nutrient management, and ongoing research into downy mildew and Fusarium wilt management in organic production systems.
Industry professionals led discussions on balancing food safety and sustainability, communicating with auditors and retail partners, and using trap crops as an integrated pest management strategy.
